WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HACKATHON AND THE FINAL EVENT?

The Hackathon is about building the products, and the final event is about sharing the results of the product.

The Innovation Camp Hackathon (7th to 12th) is mainly open for hardware CleanTech startups. The selected 10 startups will benefit from personal mentorship to build and test their prototypes. The selected startups have to be in Marrakesh during the whole 6 days of the hackathon.

The Final event (13th) is open for CleanTech startups with launched projects - NO IDEA STAGE!

CAN WE APPLY FOR BOTH?

Once you apply for the hackathon you are automatically applying for the final pitch on the 13th.

If you can not be present at the hackathon for the whole period, then you should just apply to the final pitch on the 13th.

WHY DO I NEED TO FILL OUT QUESTIONNAIRES AND WHAT IS IT FOR?

Filling out the Startup Altitude Information Questionnaire for your application helps us get to know you better and eases the decision-making process. If you get selected to take part in the Morocco Startup Altitude and you confirm your attendance we will ask you to fill out another form. Startup Matchmaking Form (as the name suggests) will be used to match you with the most suitable investors, accelerators and executives.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS IN ORDER TO TAKE PART IN THE COMPETITON?

Firstly, you need to go through a qualification phase. Every startup applying for Morocco Startup Altitude is also applying for the pitching competition. The complete information about your startup, which you gave us, decide whether you made it to the conference. If you go through all application stages positively, you will be able to participate.

WHEN WILL I KNOW THE TIME OF MY PITCH?

You will be informed about the time of your pitch prior to the event.

DOES EVERY STARTUP QUALIFY TO THE PITCHING COMPETITION?

No, only 5 startups from the 6 days hackathon, and 8 startups from the application form will be given a chance to pitch.

HOW LONG IS THE PITCH?

Your presentation should take no longer than 3 minutes. After that time, regardless of how interesting your pitch is or whether you are done or not, the mic will be handed to the judges who will then have 4 minutes for Q&A.

CAN MORE THAN ONE PERSON PRESENT?

No, only one team member is allowed to pitch on the stage.

WHAT IS A PITCH DECK?

Pitch Deck is the presentation for the pitch. Remember to present your business model, competitors in the market, your team and what is most important. Say what you are doing, what your business is about, how you want to revolutionize the market. Remember that your presentation is just an addition to what you are saying and not the core of your pitch.

WHAT SHOULD BE THE FORMAT OF THE PRESENTATION?

We recommend providing us with a PDF file, and no videos!
